Witchcraft Collection |
A COLLECTION OF ITEMS USED IN WITCHCRAFT AND MAGICAL PRACTICES FROM A FAMILY OF HEREDITORY WITCHES Andrew and Sue Collins, and Richard Ward of manmythandmagic.com, bring you a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a part of occult history. Listed below are unique items from two separate collections of witchcraft and necromantic paraphernalia collected together by noted occult historian Fred Gettings, author of numerous books on all aspects of witchcraft, magic and the occult, and purchased from him in 2002. Collection One Personal ritual items collected together by Fred Gettings himself during his long career, and include items not only from Britain but also other parts of the world.
Collection Two Put together by David Murgatroyd, a Yorkshire witch whose family name is synonymous with necromancy and the black arts. He was the author or two posthumously published books following his death in the early 1980s. One, THE SHADOW OF THE GOLDEN FIRE, traces his family's magical lineage through the nineteenth-century occult revival back to the witch mania of the seventeenth century. It also includes sections on ritual magic, based around an an alleged hand-written magical treatise by Michael Scot (1175 - ?1232) a medieval mathematician and astrologer, and the writer of various occult treatises. The second book is entitled KNIGHT OF THE RAVEN, and features the supposed exploits of Murgatroyd's distant ancestors in medieval Eastern Europe. Although unsubstantiated, David Murgatroyd was allegedly familiar with Aleister Crowley and even claimed to possess certain of Crowley's magical artefacts, according to Fred Gettings. It is quite probable that many of the items for sale remained in Murgatroyd's family for generations. The Murgatroyd Collection consists of items specifically used for ritual and necromantic purposes. However, in some cases their exact function can only be guessed at, a matter which we have discussed with their previous owner Fred Gettings, who obtained them as a complete collection from David Murgatroyd's executors following his death. Each item is now available for immediate purchase, simply through email correspondence. Please email sales@andrewcollins.com to apply for an item. Successful applicants will be notified to pay via Paypal or UK sterling cheque, which should be made payable to 'Andrew Collins' and sent by post to Andrew Collins at PO Box 189, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex SS9 1NF, UK. Although all items are described as carefully as possible, they are sold as seen and dates where given are to the best of our knowledge only. The real value of these items is far beyond their intrinsic value, and lies within a rich heritage of magical use over many years.
